Girls Age Groups based on age of as of October 1st 2009

0-11 months, 1 year olds, 2 year olds, 3 year olds, 4 year olds, 5-6 year olds, 7-8 year olds, 9-10 year olds, 11-12 year olds, 13-15 year olds, and 16-18 year olds. (Depending on number of Applicants age groups may be divided further)

(EVERYONE MUST REGISTER BY DEADLINE, NO APPLICANTS WILL BE ALLOWED AFTER this date. We need a deadline so we have ample time to order trophies and get participant gifts.)

0-4 Year old Girls and Boys will compete in the Morning

9am-9: 30am ----------0-4 year old Registration-

10am ----------------- Competition followed by awards

5-up Girls will compete in the Afternoon

12:00 to 12:30 pm Registration 5-up

COMPETITION RULES, CLOTHING

Beauty: Please wear something you would wear to church or school. A cute Fall, Flower Girl Dress is perfect! Dresses should not be any longer than Tee-Length. No Gowns, No pageant dresses. Contestants are asked to wear something that fits and looks good. Age Appropriate attire should be worn. Your clothing is NOT being judged! Contestants ages 10 years and under are not permitted to wear any make-up except clear lip-gloss. Contestants ages 11-up make up are allowed to wear light every day make-up to enhance their NATURAL beauty!

Judging Criteria

0-4 year olds are being judged on 50% Facial Beauty and 50% personality

5-10 year olds are being judged on 25% facial beauty, 50% personality, and 25% answer to on stage interview question. (Very simple questions-age, favorite place to eat, etc….)

11-up are being judged on judged on 25% each beauty, personality, speech, poise and grace. Contestants will give a 10-30 second speech about themselves (Hello my name is______and I am _____Years old. I live in __________and when I grow up I would like to become a __________.)

Extra Trophies will be given for best eyes, Hair, Smile and Personality. Beauty winners will not be permitted to win any of these awards. Photogenic is an extra event you can enter at an additional cost!

Each age division will have a Beauty winner crowned who will receive a tiara and monogrammed sash. Royalty will have publicity for one year during your reign as RiverWoods titleholders. We encourage winners to represent your titles by proudly wearing your crowns and sashes throughout the year at parades and other public events. We want our girls to be proud representatives.

NO CONTESTANT WILL WALK AWAY EMPTY HANDED. EVERY PARTICIPANT WILL RECEIVE A TROPHY AND A GIFT FOR ENTERING.  A PORTION PROCEEDS WILL BENEFIT THE RIVERWOODS NURSING CARE FACILITY. WE WANT EVERYONE TO FEEL LIKE A WINNER!

We are asking each contestant to please bring in items that can be given to the residents as BINGO prizes!  Items requested-Boxes of Tissues, hand lotion, pens, pencils, notepads, Large Print word search books and crossword puzzle books.

__________________Benefit Pageant Entry Fee $40.00. This includes a Beauty winner in each age group and extra awards will be given out for best eyes, hair, smile and Personality.  NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED! MONEY ORDERS ONLY MADE OUT TO GRACE JAMES

OPTIONAL Photogenic Competition. Photo must follow Make-up guidelines same as you would do for beauty. Photos will be judged on Overall First Impression, Photogenic Appeal, Clarity & Quality, and age appropriateness! You may submit up to a total of 5 photos! May be submitted in B/W or color! There will be a photogenic winner in each age group. Photos will be returned after competition Saturday night.

Money Order and completed registration form must be to Grace James by May 28th 2008. No one will be permitted to enter after this date in order for enough trophies and participation gifts to be available for all participants! Please call Grace to verify you are entered.
